Lance Jensen is our Chief Creative Officer and the creative powerhouse behind some of the most recognized, results producing creative work of the past two decades, including award winning, buzz-building campaigns for Budweiser, Gap, MTV, Napster, Converse, and (RED), as well as the legendary Volkswagen “Drivers Wanted,” HUMMER "Like Nothing Else," and Cadillac “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit” campaigns. Lance’s renowned “Drivers Wanted” campaign is heralded as some of the most iconic advertising of its time, and drove VW sales to a 250% increase in less than five years. As a founder of Modernista!, Lance quickly earned recognition for his edgy work targeting Generation Y for MTV, Napster, and Converse. He created the iconic Gap Holiday campaign “Gifted,” which captured the youth demographic with minimalist staging, alluring pop-culture personalities and eclectic music. The campaign featured up-and-coming talents and legendary performers from Scarlett Johansson and Will Ferrell to Shaggy, and was celebrated by David Letterman on The Late Show. His business-building campaign for HUMMER positioned it as a vehicle with a vivid personality in a world of bland look-alikes.
Known for his eclectic and precise weaving of music and narrative, Lance helped turn (RED) into a worldwide brand with iconic visuals, arresting messages, and a compelling concert series. He was also behind the video for DJ Paul Oakenfold’s world tour. Lance also led the team behind the ARG for Showtime’s Dexter season five premiere. Launched at the 2010 Comic-Con, this inventive narrative helped drive Showtime to its highest-rated premiere ever, captivated millions of fans across five continents, and won the People’s Voice Webby award.
Lance has taught advertising concepts at the Massachusetts College of Art and sits on the board of the VCU Brand Center. Awards include Cannes (including Cannes Grand Prix), MPA Kellys (sweep), Andys, Clios (including Grand Clio), D&AD, Communication Arts, Webbys, One Show, AICP, Effies, Hatch (including Hatch Best of Show), and Obie Grand.
