Slightly ahead of our time.
One of the benefits of working in advertising, besides the short hours and the lavish cocktail parties every day at 3 pm, is the fact that we are living in the future. If it’s digital, social, technological, or just plain new, chances are we’re on top of it, and finding ways to use it. So by default, a lot of this stuff is second nature to us. It’s not that way with everybody, though.
Steve Carell’s Shameful Display of Selfishness
As you know, Steve Carell, our former hero, who grew up enjoying these very meals that he deserted Wednesday evening, will no longer be dining at Chili’s.

A Site That Went Viral and The Numbers Behind It
It is an unfortunate but understandable reality that while we often marvel at digital projects that spread like wildfire across the web, we rarely get a chance to look at the numbers behind them. Between January and May, we built, launched and monitored Jerzify Yourself (warning: sound on autoplay) to get just such a glimpse [...]

Dunkin Donuts SoBe Coolatta TV
It’s fun to regress. Dunkin’ describes its tribe as the regular, everyday folks who keep America running. Which often includes firemen, construction workers, office staffers, moms and dads. But what do you do when you get the brief for Dunkin’s new SoBe Coolatta, targeted to teenage guys?
Clients Don’t Want To Kill Ads
I just had a mini-relevalation: Clients don’t want to kill ads. Okay, maybe there are a few evil, sadistic ones out there who do. But rational, everyday marketing managers? Nuh-uh.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVE Early Fishin’!!!
I was singing eear-ly. . .eear-ly . . .eear-ly fishin’ to myself all day after I saw this ad!!
Can’t wait to see it on TV!
I wish we had DD in LA!!! I would love to see this commercial on TV and have some DD coffee! Yum!
This is the best dunkin donuts commercial I have ever seen in my whole life, man, good job…….can’t wait to see it on TV!
DA BOMB!!!!
This is a great commercial!! Can’t possibly go fishin’ without my Dunkin Donuts!
I love this man. Why haven’t I seen this onTV yet? Do you know how many of us fisherman there are out there? They should be playing this everyday. Now I for one am gonna be yearnin for the double D every sunday.
My fishin buddy told me to check this out. That is fantastic. I can’t remember in all my years of getting up at the crack and heading out to fish heaven someone actually advertising to us specifically. I’m gonna hit the DD on Dale Mabry every saturday from now on. Congrats! hope you all corner the market for fisherman. Peace from Tampa, FLA
I saw this commercial and went out to get me a croissant it tasted so good, and I have bought one every single day…I think I am addicted
THATS MY LITTLE BROTHER THE KID NEXT DO THE DAD (not our real dad) HE GOT LOTS (ok not lots but a fair amount) MONEY FROM IT
WAY TO GO CORY
Hey! I’m the guy taking the big ol’ bite out of the sandwich. The commercial looks fantastic! I can’t wait to see it on TV. For the record, I finished that whole sandwich, and it was great!
Hey
I love this commercial. I was checking them out after I saw it on TV while on business in New England. I love the song and the looks cool. When is it gonna play out this way? I also read that DD was expanding. Let me know when they come to California. DD kicks Krispy Kremes butt.
makes me want to go get one of dem right now….
Crikey, couldn’t you get your crew up before sunrise? Those “day for night” shots with the hard shadows don’t do justice to the concept.
love
I Googled for something completely different, but found your page…and have to say thanks. nice read.
I can’t get enough of the D&D ads. I was looking for more ads to fix my cravings and landed on your site. The “Early Fishin” ad is incredible, and I’m so glad to have found it. It is another genius ad by your firm. When will we see it on TV? I hope soon.
John
Hey Skipper, oh genius of film photography. I worked on this shoot and that shot was at sunrise in Malibu Creek State park and was one of the most beautiful shots I’ve ever seen. Don’t quit your day job. Unless of course you work behind a camera
This ad is kickin’ I am lovin’ it, but why we can’t see the kids faces, they weren’t cute enough (lol), just clowning, would love to see a little brotha on the big screen and not just the little white baby boy!!!!
I’m doing a paper about Dunkin Donuts’ integrated brand communications (I grew up with Dunkin Donuts so I love this brand!) for my graduate program in NY. Would you know how I can possibly pull together a couple of the company’s advertising and other communication efforts?
What’s up with this commercial, how come we can’t see this on TV….it looks really good and I am trying to figure out why you would create a commercial and not show it…especially this is the one of all the DD commercials which makes the most sense and is cute!
Portia,
Early Fishin has indeed aired on TV. Sorry you missed it!
Just saw this commercial in Chicago while watching football sunday and googled it. Cute! Can someone tell me, is the music by like a real band and who is that guy at the end in the boat who makes the cute face, isn’t a famous comedian or something. Thanks
Man that brought back memories of me and my dad heading out at the crack of dawn on Sundays, we didn’t stop at DD None around then, but stopped at White Castle for coffee and rolls. Still remember the old man cleaning the carbon out of the engine on the country roads while I tried not to scald myself.
Great commercial! I love seeing it in the morning when I wake up. Very creative, so Kudos to the creators. I found myself singing it throughout the day…EARLY.
Nice Work,
PG
My husband loves this commercial (just started playing in NE FL) but the song is driving him batty – he thinks it’s a real song and not one created for a commercial. Could you please let us know which one it is? Thank you.
Darn song is stuck in my head now thanks to this commerical and my younger brother of whom I’ve gone on many “Early, Mornin……Fishin” trips…LOL
I hate this commercial so much that it drives me away from Dunkin Donuts before it makes me want to buy a Supreme Omlette. I had this stupid song stuck in my head all day. I saw it on KDKA in the morning and I had it stuck in my head during midterms. My friends David x2 and Tom had to hear my whine about how much I hate the commercial. But, I admire DD’s attemp at a good commercial, and I hope to see more weird commercials like this one.
I am gay, and I like this commercial.
Hate, hate, HATE this commercial. The song is just so depressing. Who the hell is fishing in the middle of Winter anyway??
I’m Tim’s father and have been enjoying his creative and clever mind all his life. The guys a blessing and all of his family and friend get a big kick out of Tim and love him big time. i admit to a father’s leanings , but he IS the best.
