We are seeking an Accounting Manager to support the Financial Reporting Team. This role will be responsible for overseeing daily processes and activities, managing the general ledger, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting and providing supervision and training to the accounting staff.  This position will report directly to the Assistant Controller with exposure to the Controller and CFO and opportunity for career advancement. Responsibilities:

  • Manages the general ledger and oversees accounting for all transactions related to cash, prepaids, fixed assets, intercompany, accruals and expenses
  • Manages the financial reporting process including preparation, review and analysis of balance sheet, income statement and other internal reporting schedules
  • Ensures accounting compliance with US GAAP
  • Ensures accounting policies, procedures and controls are followed in accordance with Sarbanes Oxley
  • Supervises and delegates work of the Accounting staff; assesses performance and provides feedback
  • Oversees execution of daily cash activities
  • Oversees all aspects of the capital asset process
  • Oversees process for assessing sales and use tax and submitting related state filings
  • Participates in comparison of actual results to budget and forecast
  • Participates in annual audit process
  • Participates in and drives process improvement projects
  • Manages internal and external relationships
  • Performs special projects and other duties as needed

Minimum Education and Experience Requirements:

  • BS in Accounting plus a minimum of 5 years of relevant accounting experience; CPA is a plus
  • Hands-on experience in monthly and annual closing processes, preparation and analysis of financial statements, reconciliation of balance sheet accounts, G/L posting, budget/forecasting and maintenance of fixed assets
  • Strong understanding of US GAAP
  • Experience supervising staff accountants
  • Experience discussing financial transactions and data with departments other than finance
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and strong Excel background
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills
  • Ability to work on multiple projects with accuracy and efficiency, while keeping to deadlines
