To celebrate Valentine's Day, we created Tweethearts, a program that let Twitter users turn their tweets into custom Sweethearts.
People simply send a personalized tweet to @Tweethearts. After sending the tweet, they receive a response tweet with an image of their message printed on the Sweethearts candy. Users can then order the personalized candies for delivery, share the image virally, or both, turning something digital into something physical. This was one of the first Twitter e-commerce campaigns and was named by Twitter as one of the best campaigns of the year. All this with no paid advertising support.
